The car looks pretty good in spite of your efforts guys. :-) I have a couple of suggestions for you. You will have noticed that the instructions are in steps. Try completing one step at a time. Put the model aside after each step, no matter how small it seems, to allow drying of paint and glue as necessary. You could use a meat tray as a work area to make your model portable. That way it can be moved easily to be 'put away' until you are ready for the next step. As you have learned; always glue parts together before painting. If painting is necessary prior to gluing, try to glue in an obscure place so that if the paint smudges some, it won't be noticed. The other thing is time. It takes a lot of time to build a model car. I have seen guys take a year to build the same type of kit that you guys built, so give yourselves a pat on the back that the car turned out to look as good as it does. The other option would be to purchase a simpler kit. You can get them with the body already moulded in colour. And, some are even snap together, so no glue is needed. You can sort of tailor the type of model that you buy to the time you actually expect to spend on it. Sorry for the long read, but I thought this was a great idea and would encourage anyone to try it. Oh yeah, one more thing....some paints and glues are toxic. Work in a well ventilated area or you could get woozy from the fumes.
