Thanks for the tips, Ashley! Have you ever been to Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise? We heard it was pretty huge but didn't know if it was worth the drive. We'll have to check out the Mall at Millenia next time we're down. Unfortunately, we received your comment a little too late :( We flew home the next day.
Thanks again!

It was so funny to read this post! I live in Orlando, Florida myself (& unfortunately, all my life). Here's the REAL scoop!:

Pointe Orlando: NOBODY goes there. It's a ghost town. The young crowd goes there for booze & Hooters (If it's still there..)

Orlando Premium Outlets: These outlets are exactly what they say they are: PREMIUM! If you're into high end fashion, then they do have some pretty good deals. They also have some interesting finds that you can't normally find at the 'regular' malls. The Premium outlets are basically marketed to foreigners, though. When my boyfriends family come over from England, they go CRAZY there! Same with my German friends!

If you want some good shopping, I would suggest the Mall At Millenia. They do have some high-end stores, but the awesome fairly-priced stores make up for it. They also have the BEST restaurants and beautiful decor. Overall, it's just really pleasant shopping there.

If you want any suggestions while you're staying here, feel free to e-mail me! I love playing tour guide!

Thank you for this post!!!! You shared my exact feelings of outlets in Florida!!

I expected tons of mind blowing deals and found none. Not a single one! Oh, I lie - winter jackets were on "sale". We were really looking for Jeremy - since he's into those super expensive sun glasses but he had already spent $400 a few weeks prior to our vacation, so even a deal wouldn't have thrilled me much at that point.

I have never really understood what the fuss is all about either, Susan, especially now! Jeremy says the Abercrombie outlet between NY and Moncton had some super deals . . . but we found nothing in Florida that wowed us!

I will admit - we really enjoyed the Orlando Premium Outlets, and the fact that other than walking into the stores, the 'hall' part of the mall was completely exposed to the elements. I won't lie, I also enjoyed the fact that you can buy a beer or daquiri at 12:00 in the afternoon in the middle of a shopping centre! ha.

Sounds like you had a great day, overall though!!
